Reason #2

Can you recall from Sunday a way that God spoke to you through Matt or Aaron? What stood out to you in the sermon, the music, the scriptures, or the prayers?

Yes, many times, particularly during the "Altar Your Life" sermon series where Matt talked about putting God in charge of your life and about how you should pray about everything and not compartmentalize your life, to where you only 'let' God have control of certain areas of your life. I was definitely comparmentalizing my life - I was headstrong about something and didn't want to pass it by God because I knew what God's answer would be. Also, John said a prayer where he asked God to help show us barriers that were coming between us and God. It became clear to me that I had to let something go and surrender to God. The song "Our God Reigns" is a very powerful song for me. It reminds me of how big God is and that He is in control.

i also got alot out of what matt said about not compartmentalizing your prayers. it helped to to just let some things out during prayer, and not worry about what i said.

i feel Gods presence alot when i play music. i can really let all my inhibitions go during a song, and forget about whatever girl or family problems i am having at the time. andrew always picks great songs for worship, very affective!

What stood out to me was how Aaron pulled Matt's sermon altogether in the closing song. I think it was "It is well with my soul"?

No matter what is happening or why, God still reigns and He is worthy of worship. Circumstances aside, He is Worthy.
