How do you picture heaven?

How did you picture heaven when you were a child?

How has your understanding of heaven changed over time?

What do you hope heaven is like?

I believe that heaven will be quite similar to our worship service except that it will be quite evident that we will be in the intimate prescence of God. We will be in continuous fellowship with other believers, experiencing the glory of God and in constant worship and praise of God. If you were a non believer, you would not like it at all. Although I agree that we should live a life of serving others and bringing as much of the prescence of Jesus to others as possible, I do not think that our goal should be to try to create a heaven on Earth. Earth will always be a place of suffering and a place of false accomplishments.

As a kid, I used to picture heaven as a place where I would sit in my cloud-room and have access to playing all the Sega video games I wanted.

Now I don't picture "activities" such as video-game-playing in heaven. Instead, I picture heaven as the eternal consummation of our earthly relationship with God.

Who has ever been so wrapped up in something that it has consumed most of their waking hours - maybe a fad diet, or a new crush, or a celebrity, or even a job? How much better can it be to be enveloped, wholly immersed, in God's love so that it repaces food and sleep and even breath? In that heaven I will forever joyfully sing God's praises.
